Charles Moss Duke Jr. is a former NASA astronaut, United States Air Force officer and test pilot. As Lunar Module pilot of Apollo 16 in 1972, he became the tenth and youngest person to walk on the Moon, at age 36 years and 201 days. José Hernández is a former NASA Astronaut who served on the Space Shuttle mission STS-128 in 2009. Encouraged by President Barack Obama Hernández ran for Congress in 2011. In 2023 Amazon Prime released a biopic titled "A Million Miles Away," chronicling José's remarkable journey from an immigrant farm worker to an engineer and astronaut. The film is based on his 2012 autobiography "Reaching for the Stars: The Inspiring Story of a Migrant Farmworker Turned Astronaut," The book is a story of perseverance community support and sacrifice to achieve your dreams. Scott Kelly is a former military fighter pilot and test pilot, an engineer, a retired NASA Astronaut, and a retired United States Navy Captain. A veteran of four space flights, Kelly commanded the International Space Station (ISS) on three expeditions and was a member of the yearlong mission to the ISS. In October 2015, he set the record for the total accumulated number of 340 days spent in space, the single, longest space mission by an American Astronaut. Kelly's experiences in space provided invaluable insights into the effects of long-duration spaceflight on the human body. His dedication to exploration and discovery continues to inspire generations worldwide.
